Professional Claims Group, Inc.
Professional Claims Group, Inc., is a full service private investigation agency founded by Darrell Goodwin who traces his investigative desires back to 1974 when he read his first Hardy Boy book which is about two brothers who conduct investigations and solve crimes. By 1976 he had read the entire series more than once. In 1977 Darrell was a founding member of the Leon County Sheriff’s Explorer Post and spent four years learning about law enforcement through training and hands-on experience obtaining the rank of Captain.
In 1982, he became a private investigator with Detec Corporation located in Tallahassee, Florida. In 1985, the owner of Detec Corporation retired and closed his agency. In 1986 Darrell along with several others formed International Research Bureau, Inc., (IRB) which provided investigative and document retrieval and research services.
In 1994, IRB developed one of the first on-line public record databases in the country and in July of 1995 was bought by Database Technologies, Inc., (DBT) also known as Autotrack which became the premier on-line database of public record information for law enforcement, private investigators, insurance companies, government, and general businesses. Darrell served on the board of directors for DBT from 1995 to 1996. In December of 1995 Darrell and his partner bought back the name of IRB with rights to conduct employment background screening services. In 1998 DBT was bought by Choicepoint (previous NYSE symbol of CPS).
In 2001, Darrell was on the original creation team for a new on-line public records database product called Accurint. While assisting in creating and selling the Accurint product to law enforcement, government, law firms, etc., Darrell became a founding member of IRBsearch which provided the same information to private investigative agencies nationwide. Accurint was purchased in 2004 by Lexis Nexis, NYSE; RUK. Darrell recently retired from IRBsearch to pursue new opportunities and formed Professional Claims Group, Inc., “Your PI Pal”.
